We going to apply Rule 2. Comparing Scriptures with Scriptures.
The Greek word is: tereo It means to keep, watch, observe.
The following passages are some example of the numerous portions of scriptures found in the precious Word of God. Which will highlight the importance of this word “tereo” and to learn its application.
Matthew 28:20 “teaching them to observe (tereo) all things that I commanded you.”
To saturate oneself with the precious truths in His Book.
And we need to teach the believers until they ‘tereo’.
They must learn to watch and to apply the truths in their lives.
John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.”
There is something we can do to show our Love to our precious Lord.
Ephesians 4:3 “endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit.”
We are not to create, to make the unity of the Spirit, it is not our job to do that. It is the prerogative of the Spirit of God to achieve that. We are only asked to watch, to observe, to guard, to protect it.
2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
Even under difficult circumstances do we keep the faith, is it dominant in our lives?
• One aspect that has touch me about what scriptures says about Mary
Luke 2:19 “But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.”
She treasured, the events, the experiences, and those precious thoughts, in her heart.
Yes, she cherished them.
That is the way I must cherish the truths about my Lord.
• 1 John 5:18 “he who has been born of God keeps or guards himself.”
Why? Let us read the verse and see the reason.
In Revelation we have three steps that the Lord Jesus Christ revealed to John to us and for us.
• Revelation 1:1 to 3 “Blessed is he who a. reads and those who b. hear the words of this prophecy, and c. keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.”
Note: Revelation is the only letter that is written or rather being dictated by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself to John His servant, that has a blessing to gain. To get this blessing you and I need to apply those 3 important steps; 1. To read it 2. To hear it 3. To keep it.
So, we need to have the truth written in our heart, treasured deep in our heart, and mind.
Is this our motivation, our desire to get to know
the truthsto bring glory to our Lord?
