- The woman saw that the tree was good for food,
- That it was pleasant to the eyes,
- And a tree desirable to make one wise,
Note what the serpent said in verse 3 “and you will be like God.”
“Do not love the world or the things in the world” – The system and what it contains.
If you do love the world, then get it clear in your mind – the love of the father is not in you. Serious, don’t you think?
For all that is in the world:
- The lust of the Flesh. I Feel and crave for and I must do it.
- The lust of the Eyes. I see and want to have.
- The pride of Life. I set value on things for the status that it gives me.
Comparisons with Genesis 3:6:
- The lust of the flesh – the tree was good for food.
- The lust of the eyes – that it was pleasant to the eyes.
- The pride of life – a tree desirable to make one wise.
Matthew 4:1-11; Mark 1:12-13; Luke 4:1,13.

What are the lessons we learned?
- Now you have some idea of Satan’s strategies.
- Notice that Satan used scriptures verses to tempt the Lord.
- For us who loves our Lord, we take the type of replies that our Lord gave to the enemy.
- That means WE need to know the Word of God personally in a deeper way.
- Beware our enemy has LOTS of experiences.
- Let us look at 1 Peter 5:8-9.
-
- ‘Sober’ ‘Sober spirit’ ‘Self Controlled’. Why?
- ‘Vigilant’ ‘Watchful’ ‘Alert’. Why?
- Resist him, Steadfast in your FAITH. The enemy wants to derail Your FAITH and your TRUST in the TRUTH of the Word of God.
